Key Responsibilities for the Financial Controller
- Preparation of management accounts together for 2 group companies with supporting board report schedules (UK and Canada)
- Reconciliation of the balance sheet
- Managing the forecasting and budgeting process along with 3 year Strategic Plan
- Revenue recognition through analysing complex Work In Progress
- Close Management of Debtors and working capital
- Managing Payroll, pensions, and related matters alongside external payroll bureau
- Taxes: PAYE, VAT, CT and annual returns
- Banking and treasury
- Managing the Year End accounts process
- Continuous improvement of reporting and processes, particularly within the company ERP (Odoo)
- Ad-hoc queries as expected in a financial controller role
Desired Skills and Experience
- Fully qualified – ACA / CIMA / ACCA
- Ability to work with a high level of accuracy and meet strict deadlines
- Proficient with cloud based ERP’s (Odoo)
- Excellent Excel and financial modelling skills are required
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- This is a standalone finance role so must be prepared to ‘get hands dirty’
