Smart IT has a training Academy,  a facility which provides specialist tuition focused on the implementation, use and maintenance of Odoo ERP in a commercial environment.  

Odoo, particularly, in the UK suffers from a shortage of qualified resources. The dearth of adequately experienced functional personnel is an ongoing issue; an issue which could hamper the growth of Smart IT. As a company, we continually ask ourselves how can we internally farm IT talent and how can we transition existing staff members into differentiating ERP roles?   Our response to the skills shortage is the Smart IT Odoo ERP Academy.

What is ERP?

Enterprise resource planning (ERP) is a type of software that organisations use to manage day-to-day business activities such as accounting, procurement, sales, customer services, project management, risk management and compliance, and supply chain operations. ERP systems bring together a multitude of business processes and enable the flow of data between them. By collecting an organisation’s shared transnational data from multiple sources, ERP systems eliminate data duplication and provide data integrity.

Who can apply?

Open to everybody, from school leavers to adult  learners, it has been designed to meet the demand for skilled Odoo ERP practitioners. You do not need to hold a degree to apply.   

The curriculum

The curriculum covers all operational aspects of Odoo from installation through configuration to practical operation in a business environment.

Digital by design, the Smart IT Odoo ERP Academy programme pathways have the flexibility to meet the learners’ individual needs but also ensure progress is maintained and to keep candidates on track. The pathways provide an immersive learning experience with online modular learning resources for candidates to discover in their own time.  Mentoring forms a key part of the programmes. Learning is consolidated with a formal examination at the end of each course.

This programme enables Smart IT to offer employment to a wider, less experienced community whilst offering them the opportunity for a progressive career in the ERP sector.

The career path sees candidates serve periods in the following roles:

• Help Desk Assistant
• Help Desk Customer Representative
• Junior Functional Consultant
• Functional Consultant
• Senior Functional Consultant

Thereafter, they may elect to continue as a functional consultant or, alternatively, move into project a management or sales position.
