Past Microsoft Dynamics CRM integration projects

Smart It has carried out many bespoke customisation projects across all the versions of Microsoft Dynamics CRM. These projects have included integration with other applications including e commerce, development of bespoke plugins, integration with website email systems and sending data into Sage accounts. 

Multiple Source Import

Smart IT recently completed a Microsoft Dynamics CRM Integration project with a multi branch insurance based UK PLC Group. This project basically involved taking multiple CSV files from many different 3rd party systems and importing the account information/policy information into Microsoft CRM while avoiding any duplication. The system was built to run such that they could run an import whenever it needed to update its core CRM data. The system that was produced is a hybrid of clever algorithms and a database full of town/county information. It is capable of working out the same company/client cross multiple CSV files even if they are spelt differently based on aspects such as postcode, fuzzy logic, phone numbers etc.

If the same Account each with a policy was present in 5 separate CSV files the program would ensure that there was only 1 Account created in Microsoft CRM with 5 policies rather than 5 accounts with 1 policy each. On a re-import it would then simply update the 5 policies and the account information, it wouldnt duplicate.

Excel Form CRM Integration

Smart IT had a client who used an Excel order form that came from their sales reps. Smart IT was asked to create an excel plugin for uploading an excel order form into CRM. The plugin worked at several stages. It would first extract customer information and attempt to find them in the CRM database, if they are not found it would create a new CRM Contact or Account. It would also create a quote/order and produce an invoice which would then be sent back to the customer. This import was started by button added to the menu within Excel.

Website Email Form Integration

Smart IT have integrated many website forms into CRM in the past, these have included harvesting leads from a website and feeding them into CRM as leeds, through to taking Orders on websites and creating the relevant accounts/quotes/orders/invoices within CRM.

Website User Integration

Smart IT have integrated website ‘user accounts’ with Contacts within Microsoft CRM, this has allowed users to create user accounts on websites and maintain their own credentials, when they update their account profile it updates their CRM account. It is also ideal for email marketing through Microsoft CRM, people signup for an account on a website and since their contact enters CRM it’s immediately available for mailshot.

Customer Service Integration

Smart IT has linked Microsoft CRM’s case/incidents with a website’s live customer service system, this allows users to create support cases on the company website and the customer service teams can then respond within CRM.

Sage Integration

Smart IT has created CRM invoice integration with sage by producing CSV output files that can then be imported into Sage.
